Component #7 – Lesson Delivery
Content and language objectives should evident throughout the lesson delivery and students should be able to connect the lesson with those objectives at the end of the class session. Student engagement is emphasized and students are expected to be actively engaged upwards of 90% of the time (pg. 155). The three aspects to student engagement are allocated time, engaged time, and academic learning time. Ensuring that all three aspects are a part of delivery will ensure that English learners time is purposely planned for the entirety of the class period and they are engaged on various levels.
